Happy Fall!

We are blessed generally to have beautiful colors and sunny days but we also have a shift in temperatures as we begin to transition to winter. The body can get stressed during this time and it is the start of flu and cold season.

An Important Tip

When you feel like you’re coming down with an illness, try to get in to see me in the first 48 hours. At this time the virus is still near the surface of the body and has not yet gone deeper. Doing a cupping treatment along with acupuncture oftentimes is able to keep you from getting sick or dramatically shorten the duration of the illness.

Stay Vibrant and Healthy

I carry two great herbal formulas called Munity Boost and LDM 100. They contain a powerful herb called Lomatium. It’s antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal so it has widespread use. It is safe to take all season long as a preventative and effective during acute cold or flu. The Lomatium is harvested wild from Utah. It comes from a company called Barlow Herbs. The owner of Barlow, Jane, is a vibrant, healthy, energetic woman. She sends me a quarterly newsletter with health tips and I wanted to share one of her articles with you.

The 7 Habits and Beliefs that can Determine Your Health and Longevity

You know it’s easier to prevent rather than cure disease. Yet most people wait until they get diagnosed with heart disease, diabetes or cancer and then they work hard on the cure or…they succumb to the “easier” route of prescription drugs and a life of discomfort and painful medical treatments and procedures.

This mentality is literally hurting our health, quality of life and taking us to an early death.

As modern Americans we pay little attention to the state of our health until it breaks down and demands that we stand up and take notice.

Here are 7 important habits and beliefs that can have an immediate impact on what your health looks and feels like.

  1. FAST FOOD is killing you. A little bit is NOT okay. It’s time to opt out of the fast food industry once and for all.
  2. Realize the SERIOUS HARM of too much SUGAR. It comes in a beautiful, tasty, lovely packages given to you by the people you love and it’s EVERY WHERE. There is nothing sweet about sugar. It’s hard to stop the sugar addiction but it will be one of the best things you will EVER DO for your HEALTH.
  3. When you STOP MOVING you START DYING. There is a reason that everyone talks about movement and exercise. You don’t need me to tell you the reasons because you already know them. Make it a habit to literally get up and move, stretch, bend walk around at least once an hour. And start today.
  4. The SUPER NATURAL POWER OF FASTING. Educate yourself. Read “The Complete Guide to Fasting” by Jason Fung. Then grab a fasting buddy. Your spouse, your partner or a friend. The more you do the easier it gets. And the benefits are mind blowing. You will lose weight. You will give your body a chance to heal, rejuvenate and repair on a deep, cellular level.
  5. Practice FORGIVENESS. That includes forgiving yourself. When you don’t forgive you hurt yourself much more than the person who wronged you. Forgiveness gets easier the more you practice it. Life it too short to hold a grudge, my friends.
  6. FORGE STRONG SOCIAL CONNECTIONS. You are a social being. You are meant for human connections and deep, life-long lasting friendships. Connecting with others on social media, messaging, texting and sitting behind your computer does not count. You need the physical human touch, hug, laughter and enjoyment that comes with being with others.
  7. The POWER of EPIGENITICS. You are not the VICTIM of your genetic expression. YOU are the CREATOR of the way your genes express either health or dis-ease. Check out “The Biology of Belief” by Dr. Bruce Lipton. You are designed for wellness, there is no doubt. Every choice you make- makes a difference. Health is simple. It’s not a complicated thing. You are meant for vibrant health. It’s your beautiful, human birthright.
